Data Downloads

This page provides access to individual record-level data from the EHRI Status and Dynamics datasets. The data does not include personally-identifiable information (PII), and some fields are redacted for sensitive individual records to comply with OPM’s data release policy. These datasets are designed to provide open access for analysts, researchers, and data practitioners to explore and analyze federal workforce data.

• Federal Employment Raw Data: Record-level data from the EHRI Status dataset. EHRI Status is a snapshot of the federal workforce on the last day of each month. Status data files include all active employees (in either a pay or non-pay status) for each agency's workforce as of the last day of each month.
• Federal Accessions Raw Data: Record-level data from the EHRI Dynamics dataset. EHRI Dynamics is a dataset of the personnel actions that have been processed for employees each month. The accessions raw data file includes personnel actions related to individuals entering federal civilian employment, including new hires and transfers.
• Federal Separations Raw Data: Record-level data from the EHRI Dynamics dataset. The separations raw data file includes personnel actions related to individuals leaving federal civilian employment, including resignations, retirements, and other separations.

Note: The Federal Employment files are large (over 2 million rows) and will exceed the row limit for many spreadsheet tools (e.g., MS Excel). To use these files, download them (do not open in Excel) and use another tool to ingest the data (e.g. Python).
